NSCDC alerts the public on fake recruitment in Ogun State

On 28 March, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) alerted the public of a fake recruitment exercise that is going on in Ogun State.

Addressing victims of the scam who stormed the NSCDC headquarters in the Ogun State capital, Abeokuta, the Corps Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Olanrewaju Kareem, explained that some unscrupulous persons had created a fake NSCDC website, and were asking interested job seekers to pay a certain amount of money into a designated bank.

Kareem said: “Following the discovery of this fake internet recruitment exercise, the Ogun State Command wishes to inform the general public that the Corps is not advertising any vacancy, neither is it recruiting at the moment”.

The NSCDC officer drew attention to the fact that previous recruitments by the Corps never required applicants to pay any fee. He added that any recruitment exercise into the NSCDC would be adequately publicized by the Corps.

Kareem said the NSCDC was working to apprehend those behind the recruitment scam. He appealed on anyone with useful information to call 0803 940 7131.
